Etheco Joins 1% for the Planet

We are strengthening our commitment to environmental action by becoming a member of a global movement of responsible companies

etheco has become a member of 1% for the Planet, joining an international network of businesses that commit at least one per cent of annual sales to environmental causes.

We announce this accreditation as part of our wider commitment to helping organisations operate more responsibly while also applying the same principles within our own business.

Launched in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard and Craig Mathews, the respective founders of Patagonia and Blue Ribbon Flies, 1% for the Planet was created to encourage businesses to give back to the environment. Today, the organisation includes thousands of companies across more than 60 industries and supports environmental projects in over 110 countries.

By becoming a member, etheco will be part of that worldwide movement and will be able to display the 1% for the Planet accreditation across our communications and website.

Jason Hollingsworth, founder of etheco, said: “This is a great accreditation to have (worldwide and highly recognised) and helps us set out our shop in terms of practicing what we advocate and being trusted.”

The move is intended to reinforce etheco’s message that businesses should lead by example when it comes to sustainability. We believe the new membership will strengthen confidence among our customers and clients and demonstrate that our environmental advice is backed by action as well as words.
