partner with etheco
Put your brand in front of consumers who choose with their values.
etheco is building the UK’s most comprehensive platform for ethical and eco-friendly living. We’ve launched with a curated directory of over 300 vetted businesses spanning banking, insurance, energy, telecoms, fashion, beauty, household goods, food and drink, pet care, technology and travel — and we’re scaling into a full ratings-led shopping and switching engine.
Every listing is hand-selected based on genuine ethical and environmental credentials: B Corp certification, Fairtrade sourcing, carbon-neutral operations, charitable giving, transparent supply chains. Our audience is made up of values-driven consumers who actively research and compare before they buy. They aren’t impulse browsers — they’re high-intent customers who convert well, stay loyal, and advocate for the brands they trust.
How we rate: the 4Ps
At the heart of etheco is the 4Ps rating framework — a transparent, openly published scoring methodology that evaluates every business across four pillars:
People – How a business treats its workers, customers and communities. Fair wages, diversity, charitable contributions and supply chain ethics all factor in.
Planet – Environmental impact: carbon emissions, energy sourcing, recyclability, pollution, use of fossil fuels and toxic materials, and product useful life.
Pocket – Real value, not just headline price. Total cost of ownership, running costs, warranty, ongoing charges, and whether the product genuinely delivers what consumers need.
Performance – Whether a business delivers on its promises. Customer reviews, complaints handling, transparency of terms and conditions, and the substance behind any sustainability claims.
This isn’t a black-box score. Our methodology is published. Our data sources are transparent — drawing on consumer rating bodies, regulatory and compliance data, user satisfaction platforms, product specifications, kitemarks and certifications. And our affiliate relationships are clearly labelled and editorially independent from rankings. Trust by design.
How affiliate partnerships work
etheco is free for consumers, and we intend to keep it that way. When a user discovers a product or service through our directory and goes on to purchase, switch or sign up, we may receive a small referral fee or commission from that provider. This income is what allows us to keep the platform free, fund the development of new tools, publish independent editorial content, and invest in initiatives that create positive social impact.
Here’s what that means in practice:
No bearing on listings, rankings or recommendations. Our directory and ratings are based entirely on merit and our assessment of quality, ethics and impact. Whether or not we hold a referral partnership with a provider has zero influence on their placement or visibility.
Full transparency, always. Any listing where a referral partnership exists is clearly marked with an etheco Partner badge. Consumers always know.
The consumer pays the same price. Any commission is paid by the provider, never by the user. The price someone pays through etheco is identical to going directly.
For affiliate partners, this means your brand sits within a platform that consumers genuinely trust — because they can see exactly how it works and verify that recommendations are earned, not bought.
Why partner with etheco
When you join etheco as an affiliate partner, your brand gets:
Targeted visibility among an audience already predisposed to choose ethical and sustainable products and services. With seven in ten UK consumers now sceptical of environmental claims and ethical spending exceeding £141 billion, these are people actively looking for a credible guide to action.
Trusted endorsement through a transparent, ratings-led platform where editorial independence is guaranteed — not a pay-to-play comparison site.
Quality referrals from consumers who have read, researched and are ready to act. These are high-intent, high-conversion visitors.
Editorial amplification through our growing library of in-depth category guides, expert articles and decision-making tools. When a reader finishes our guide to ethical insurance or ethical banking, they’re ready to act — and an affiliate link gives them a seamless, trackable path to becoming your customer.
A virtuous cycle. Your referral commissions directly fund the tools, content and ratings infrastructure that bring more conscious consumers to your brand. You’re not paying for a listing — you’re investing in the platform that grows your audience.
Already in the etheco directory?
If your business is already listed, you’re there because you’ve earned it. Your listing is based on our independent editorial assessment and the 4Ps framework — and that will never change, regardless of any commercial relationship. We will never remove, downgrade or alter a listing based on whether a business chooses to partner with us.
So why consider partnering? Your directory listing gives you visibility among a growing audience of values-driven consumers. An affiliate partnership turns that visibility into measurable customer acquisition — and helps both of us do more. Every commission we earn is reinvested directly into the platform: better content, broader reach, new tools like our switching engine and footprint calculator. You’re not paying for a listing you already have. You’re investing in the infrastructure that brings more of the right customers to your door.

A partnership built on shared value
For your business: measurable customer acquisition from an audience that converts well, stays loyal and advocates for brands they believe in.
For etheco: sustainable revenue that funds the tools, content and infrastructure to keep the platform free and growing.
For the consumer: the same price, a better experience, and a platform that can afford to keep improving because it’s funded by the businesses that share its values.
Ready to partner?
We’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re already in our directory or think you should be, get in touch and we’ll walk you through how it works. There’s no pressure and no obligation — the conversation always starts with whether we’re a good fit, not with the commercial terms.
