Insurance is one of those purchases where you only truly find out what you’ve bought when something goes wrong. After more than 15 years with Naturesave, I can tell you: when things go wrong, they get it right
Consistency is key
I’ll be honest – choosing an insurance provider is not usually the most exciting thing you’ll do in pursuit of a more ethical lifestyle. But it matters. Where your premiums end up, who profits from them and whether your insurer will actually come through for you when you need it most – these are questions worth asking. For me, Naturesave has answered all of them convincingly, year after year.
I first took out household cover with Naturesave well over 15 years ago. Since then they have covered multiple businesses I have been involved with, insured the solar panels on my family home and seen me through a handful of claims that tested the relationship in the best possible way – including a stolen bike, a lost wedding ring and, most significantly, water damage to a previous family home. Every single claim was handled professionally, fairly and without unnecessary delay.
Not the cheapest – but worth every penny
Naturesave may not be the lowest quote you receive. But price alone is a poor measure of an insurance policy. What is the point of saving £30 a year with a provider who makes claiming difficult, keeps you on hold for an hour or disputes your entitlement at the worst possible moment? The peace of mind that comes from knowing there is always someone at the end of the line – knowledgeable, helpful and willing to discuss changing requirements or policy terms – is something I have genuinely valued.
From my experience Naturesave has provided very strong value over time. The cost of a poorly handled claim – financially, practically and emotionally – can by far outweigh any short-term premium saving I might have found elsewhere.

What Naturesave covers
Naturesave provides a range of ethical insurance products for both individuals and businesses. For personal customers, cover includes green home insurance, non-standard home insurance, ethical travel insurance and both EV and green motor insurance. For businesses, Naturesave offers products including professional indemnity insurance, directors and officers liability cover, cyber insurance and specialist insurance for unique places to stay, health food shops, sustainable restaurants, charities, and other ethical businesses.
They also provide renewable energy insurance – covering solar panels, wind turbines, hydro and community projects – as well as a cover for charities and non-profits.
Ethical insurance backed by real service
What has kept me with Naturesave for more than 15 years is the combination of strong ethical values and reliable customer service. Over the years they have insured my home, solar panels and businesses, and when I have needed to claim, the process has always been handled fairly and efficiently by helpful people.
Naturesave’s environmental and social commitments also feel genuine rather than superficial. Through the Naturesave Trust, Living Wage accreditation and support for greener homes, renewable energy and ethical businesses, there is a clear link between the company’s values and how it operates.
While not always the cheapest option, my experience has been that the quality of cover and service makes Naturesave excellent value — and an insurer I would confidently recommend.
